Slow Cooker Ribs
Ingredients:
- 2 cups bbq sauce
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 4-5 lbs baby back ribs
- Cooking spray
Special Tools:
- Slow cooker
- Large ziplock freezer bag
Directions:
- Mince 3 cloves garlic
- In a large ziplock freezer bag, combine 2 cups bbq sauce, 2 tsp brown sugar, minced garlic, 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- Seal bag and knead to mix ingredients
- Add 4-5 lbs baby back ribs to freezer bag. Reseal and shake to thoroughly coat with marinade
- Spray inside slowcooker and add ribs, topping with half the remaining sauce
- Cook on high heat for 5 hours, or low for 9 hours
Yield: 4-5 lbs of ribs. Maybe a little less, I think meat loses a bit of weight post-cook

Tips:
The instructions I was given said that if you wanted slightly firmer ribs, you could cook on low for 7 hours. Also, if you want an extra touch, after they come out of the slow cooker you can broil them for a couple minutes to caramalize the sauce.
I've never bothered spraying the slow cooker basin with cooking spray, but this is how I got the instructions and maybe it's helpful.
Description:
Full disclosure, as of this posting, the image for this update was prepared mostly in the oven. Lee-Anne made this dish and she accidentally set the slow cooker to the warm setting when she meant to set it to high. As dinner approached, we needed a faster way to prepare them and opted for the oven. They were good but presumably they'd be better in the slow cooker.
To her credit, her logic made sense. There are 4 settings. The far left is off, and then it goes slow, high, then warm. You would think that it would scale from lowest heat to highest, but instead the two lowest settings are on opposite sides. I never use the warm setting and forgot it existed so didn't think to warn her. There are no intuitive lables either. It's like, hollow dot, opaque dot, two opaque dots, then a little picture of the slow cooker basin.
Lee-Anne's found herself with a little extra time lately, and part of it has gone to experimenting in the kitchen. This is why a disproportionate number of recent entries are coming from her
