Description:
Bob's Burgers is a made-for-adults cartoon in the vein of The Simpsons and Family Guy. I first gained a taste for the series when I worked night shift at a group home. The TV was always on, and it was a regular feature in the late-night rotation. The episode that really hooked me was the one where Tina, eldest daughter of the family, finally gets her wish to go to horse camp. Her banter with her imaginary horse Jerico specifically got me looking for the show in my off hours.
The protagonist of the show is a man named Bob who owns his own burger restaurant. Every episode features a Burger of the Day based on some manner of pun. Eventually, the show published a cookbook based on this gag.
It has instructions on how to make patties from scratch. I've done this in the past, but for this blog entry, I noticed we had pre-made frozen burger patties. So we'll focus on the topping this time.
I've always loved Brussels sprouts, ever since I was a child. I'm pretty sure mentioned this at least a few time before. I'm also a fan of pistachios. They were my favourit nut growing up. The combination of these two ingredients made me feel like this burger was made specifically with me in mind. Maybe there are other people with a similar flavour profile.
My apologies if the photo for this recipe doesn't quite live up to standard. I took the pic with the intent to send it to my brother. For some reason it feels weirder to post a dish made from the Bob's Burgers book than it does from other cookbooks. But in the end I figured I might want to make it again, so I'm putting it here
